Enhance your Medicare Advantage Star Ratings
The 5-Star Quality Rating System — introduced in 2007 by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) — has undergone many changes over the years.
CMS doubled the weight of patient experience measures used to calculate Star Ratings according to its Contract Year 2022 Medicare Advantage and Part D Final Rule.1 Although this change will impact Star Ratings for plans in 2024, those ratings will be based on care delivered now, in 2022.
Resources to help boost Star Ratings
In today’s highly competitive MA market, plans have become hyper-focused in improving patient experience as a means to a 5-Star Rating and, in turn, heightened enrollment. In 2022, 90% of enrollees were in plans with quality ratings of 4 or more stars.2 Use these resources to help boost your health plan’s Star Ratings and get your piece of the market.
