Mom's Meals donated 500 meal kits to The Just One Project

Addressing nutrition insecurity means bringing all hands on deck. To improve access to nutritious food, Mom’s Meals worked with United Way of Southern Nevada to assemble and donate 500 meal kits to The Just One Project, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to food, resources and supportive services to build a healthier community.

The kits were assembled during the Association of Health Insurance Plans’ annual convention in Las Vegas, where attendees helped pack meals and engage in discussions about the role of food as medicine. Attendees learned more about how medically tailored meals can improve health outcomes, support chronic condition management and reduce overall health care costs.

“At Mom’s Meals, we believe everyone deserves access to nutritious food,” said Tracy Smith, vice president of marketing. “This donation is one way we’re supporting people’s well-being and contributing to healthier communities.”

Each meal kit assembled represented not just food, but a commitment to a healthier community and support for individuals facing nutrition insecurity. By combining resources and aligning around a shared goal, Mom’s Meals, United Way of Southern Nevada, and The Just One Project were able to extend their reach and support individuals and families in need.

“At The Just One Project, we know food is more than nourishment — it’s a foundation for stability, health, and dignity,” said Brooke Neubauer, CEO of The Just One Project. “This partnership strengthens our ability to reach families where they are, providing nutritious food with compassion and purpose. Together, we’re closing the gap between hunger and health.”
