What makes Mom’s Meals different than other programs?

Four things make Mom’s Meals different:

  1. FRESH Made and FRESH Delivered meals that stay fresh for 14 days in the refrigerator (40°F), due to break-through Fresh-Lock packaging, which allows you to eat any meal anytime you desire.
  2. Individual CHOICE of over 60 meals. Only select the meals you enjoy eating.
  3. SPECIAL DIET menus – you can choose from any of our health condition menus to meet your nutritional needs, like heart-healthy or diabetic-friendly menus.
  4. Moms Meals Customer Care – our Mom’s Care Team wants your experience with us to be the best possible and will work with you to customize your program and meet your individual needs.
Do I need to prepare anything to eat Mom’s Meals?

No preparation required!  All you need to do is follow the suggested heating time on the label of each meal, warm it in the microwave or oven, and you have a fresh, nutritious meal to enjoy!

How can I prepare the meals so they are most appetizing to me?

We have seasoned our meals to appeal to a variety of customers, but we know everyone’s tastes vary.  With your order, you will receive our Chef’s Tips so you can flavor our food to your preference and heat and serve the meals so they are most appetizing to you.  You will also be provided with microwave heating instructions and suggestions for stove top and oven heating.

How does the food stay fresh and safe in the refrigerator for 14 days?

We utilize a break-through European technology that creates a “Fresh-Lock” from the time we place the meals in the sealed containers and chill them, until they get to your home and you immediately place them in your refrigerator. As long as you keep the “Fresh-Lock” sealed and your meal below 40 degrees in your refrigerator, your meal will maintain that fresh-made taste for 14 days. It’s similar to the “lettuce in the bag” packaging that you see in your supermarket, but enhanced for longer freshness. All our meals are USDA inspected, and we do continual meal safety testing to ensure your food is safe.

How does the food stay fresh during shipping without being frozen?

Our “Fresh-Lock” packaging, combined with our proprietary gel packs and innovative cooler packing, are used to keep your food at the right temperature during shipment.

Do you have a diabetic menu?

Many of our meals are diabetic-friendly.  The nutritional values for each meal are listed on our website in the “browse all meals” and “order” sections where you can check individual meals to determine if they meet the diabetic criteria that your doctor suggests.

Are the gluten-free meals made in a gluten-free kitchen?

Gluten-free meals are made in a USDA inspected kitchen, which is thoroughly cleaned according to the best food safety standards, to reduce the risk of cross-contamination; however, it is not a dedicated gluten-free kitchen.

How are the gluten-free meals tested and to what level?

Gluten-Free meals are tested at an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory using the ELISA method for gluten testing and are based on 20 ppm (parts per million) criteria, per the proposed FDA guidelines.

Do you offer Vegan meals?

Yes. We have some Vegan meals selections, and our other vegetarian meals are “ovo-lacto vegetarian”, which include dairy, eggs, beans, plant proteins and nuts, and are free from animal proteins.

How do I know if the Cancer Support Menu is right for my type of cancer?

You should consult with a Registered Dietitian specializing in oncology to determine the best nutrition plan for you. You may want to share a printout of the Cancer Support menu  to get your dietitian’s input.  You may also consider some of our vegetarian or vegan meals.

Can you customize my meals to eliminate my personal allergens?

Currently, we offer gluten-free menus.   Unfortunately, we cannot custom design and cook each meal to address each person’s individual allergens or specific list of ingredients that are not amenable to them.
